Park and Recreation Commission

The Abington Park and Recreation Department is overseen by the Park Department Board of Commissioners. The purpose of the Commission is to set policies and advise the Superintendent on needed parks and recreation programs; oversee the town’s recreation programs and park areas; and plan, acquire and develop recreation facilities, parks and open space areas to meet future needs as the town grows.

The Park and Recreation Commission consists of five elected members:

• Robert Walsh

Meetings

The Abington Park and Recreation Commission has monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month. All meetings are open to the public and held in the Susan Meier Room in Town Hall at 7 pm. Anyone who would like to address the Commission needs to be placed on the agenda by calling the Parks and Recreation
